Leela and Dino met on the Isle of Wight, where Dino owned and managed a hotel in Shanklin. It was love at first sight. Soon after, they bought land and began creating their dream off-grid home, complete with four authentic Mongolian yurts, solar arrays, wind turbines, goats, alpacas, and Lily the cow.

Raising a young family in nature, they pioneered sustainable living and shared a dream: to combine hospitality with their deep love for animals and the outdoors.

Leela grew up riding horses and competing in events and shows. Dino always promised to buy her a horse for their land when the time was right. That moment arrived during a family trip to Cyprus. In the pine-forested hills, they discovered the perfect plot of land, sun-drenched, peaceful, and full of potential.

With their belongings packed and the yurts shipped from the UK, the family relocated to build a life rooted in nature and community. And so, Rock Rose Ranch was born—home to the only Western riding ranch in Cyprus. Dino quickly bonded with their first horses, Onyx, a majestic Friesian stallion, and Hakeem, a retired racehorse. Inspired by the principles of natural horsemanship, they began a journey into Western-style riding that focused on trust, connection, and gentle communication.

At Rock Rose Ranch, this approach has become their philosophy: no force, no pressure, just mutual respect and understanding. They now invite guests to experience that magic through horse riding holidays in Cyprus, trail rides, and sand school sessions for all skill levels.
